Metode
Meng al die bestanddele. Roer en verhit oor kookwater totdat die
mengsel verdik en die eier gaar is. Oorverhitting sal dit laat skif.

Metode
Smelt die botter in 'n kastrol en roer die droë bestanddele by.
Gooi die melk by en roer aan-houdend totdat di mengsel glad is.
Kook on-geveer 3 minute lank tot gaar is. Roer 'n bietjie van die
kokende mengsel by die eier, en gooi in die kastrol. Roer en bring
net tot kookpunt. Haal van die stoof af en roer asyn by.

Classic Waldorf Salad
A classic Waldorf salad recipe with apples and walnuts.
INGREDIENTS:
* 3 medium golden delicious or red delicious apples (about 2 to 2 1/2 cups cubed)
* 1 tablespoon sugar
* 1 teaspoon lemon juice
* 1 dash salt
* 1 cup thinly sliced celery
* 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
* 1/4 cup mayonnaise
* 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
* mixed salad greens
PREPARATION:
Wash apples; core and cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
Do not peel.
Sprinkle cubed apples with sugar, lemon juice and salt.
Add celery and nuts.
Fold mayonnaise into whipped cream.
Fold mayonnaise mixture gently into apple mixture.
Waldorf salad is served on mixed salad greens.
Waldorf Salad with Raisins
This version of Waldorf salad has a little orange peel and orange sections. More Waldorf salad recipes below.
INGREDIENTS:
· 1 orange
· 2 cups diced, unpeeled apple
· 1 teaspoon finely grated orange peel
· 1/2 cup raisins
· 1/2 cup thinly sliced celery
· 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
· 1/4 cup mayonnaise
· 1 tablespoon sugar
· 3/4 cup whipped topping
· salad greens or lettuce
PREPARATION:
Directions for Waldorf salad
Zest orange for the 1 teaspoon grated orange peel; peel and section orange over a bowl to catch any juices.
Cut each orange section in half; reserve 1 tablespoon of the collected orange juice.
In a bowl combine diced apple, orange peel, raisins, celery, walnuts, and orange pieces.
In a separate bowl, blend together mayonnaise, sugar, and reserved orange juice.
Fold in whipped topping and gently stir into apple Waldorf salad mixture.
Arrange salad greens on serving plates and top with Waldorf salad.
Waldorf Rice Salad
INGREDIENTS:
* 2 cups red delicious apples, cored and diced, unpeeled
* 1/4 cup pineapple juice or apple juice
* 3 cups brown or white rice, cooked and cooled
* 1 cup chopped celery
* 1 cup chopped walnuts
* 1/2 cup raisins
* 1/4 cup shredded carrots
* 3/4 cup vanilla or plain yogurt, low-fat
* 3/4 cup mayonnaise
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
PREPARATION:
Directions for Waldorf salad In mixing bowl, combine apples and juice.
Add rice, celery, walnuts, raisins and carrots; stir to blend all ingredients.
In separate bowl, combine yogurt, mayonnaise, salt, and cinnamon; stir to blend.
Stir mayonnaise mixture into apple mixture.
Cover and refrigerate Waldorf salad until ready to serve.
Spiced Waldorf Salad
A spiced version of a popular Waldorf salad, made with apples and walnuts.
INGREDIENTS:
* 2 cups coarsely chopped apples, about 2 medium apples
* 1 1/4 cups chopped celery
* 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
* 1/3 cup mayonnaise
* 2 teaspoons sugar
* dash allspice
* 1 teaspoon lemon juice
PREPARATION:
To make Waldorf salad, place chopped apple, celery and walnuts in a bowl.
Combine mayonnaise, sugar, allspice and lemon juice.
Toss mayonnaise mixture with apple mixture.
Serve waldorf salad over salad greens if desired.
Apple Salad with Pecans
Apple salad with pecans and raisins is similar to Waldorf salad.
INGREDIENTS:
* 5 medium Red Delicious apples
* juice of 1 lemon
* 1/2 cup sliced celery
* 1/2 cup chopped pecans
* 1/2 cup raisins
* 1/3 to 1/2 cup mayonnaise
* lettuce leaves
PREPARATION:
Wash apples; do not peel.
Core apples and cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
Combine apples with celery, pecans, raisins, and mayonnaise.
Serve apple salad on lettuce leaves.
Apple Salad
Dressing
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
Mix all ingredients for dressing in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool.
Salad
3 red apples, diced but not peeled
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. drained crushed pineapple
1 c. miniature marshmallows
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c. chopped celery
When dressing is cool, pour over fruit mixture and toss lightly. Refrigerate overnight. Will keep for several days in airtight container.
