Three eagles fighting over a fish in Homer, Alaska.
You can see the fish at the top of the image flying by itself, but it was caught in its fall by another eagle.
This photo was taken in Antigua, Guatemala.
On each note is the message, Te amo, Cristina.

I was asked by a student "What is the difference between annoyance, anger and exasperation?"
I replied, "It is mostly a matter of degree. Let me show you what I mean."
With that, I went to the telephone and dialed a number at random. To the man who answered the phone, I said, "Hello, is Melvin there?"
The man answered, "There is no one living here named Melvin. Why don't you learn to look up numbers before you dial them?"
"See," I shared with the young lady. "That man was not a bit happy with our call. He was probably very busy with something and we ANNOYED him. Now watch."
I dialed the number again. "Hello, is Melvin there?" I asked.
"Now look here!" came the heated reply. "You just called this number and I told you that there is no Melvin here! You've got a lot of nerve calling again!" The receiver slammed down hard.
Turning to the student I said, "You see, that was ANGER, plain and simple."
"Now I'll show you what EXASPERATION means."
I dialed the same number, and when a violent voice roared, "Hello!" I calmly said, "Hello, this is Melvin. Have there been any calls for me?"

A wild durian fruit from the rain forests of Borneo is cut open, its vivid red flesh exposed.
Wild durian has a spiny green exterior, emits an infamous rotting stench, and is mainly eaten by birds.
A solar phenomenon known as a sundog arcs over the tundra in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.
Sundogs are fairly common occurrences in the Arctic and Antarctic.
They form when the sun is near the horizon and ice crystals high in the sky line up in a way that bends the solar rays like a prism.
A twilight mist floats through the rain forest canopy in Borneo’s Gunung Palung National Park.
The future of this uninhabited ecological treasure, covering more than 220,000 acres (90,000 hectares), is threatened by ever increasing illegal logging.
Ariaal warriors rest on an outcrop amid the deserts of northern Kenya's Marsabit District.
The 10,000 or so Ariaal who inhabit Marsabit have managed to maintain their nomadic way of life in spite of shrinking communal pastures,
increasing ethnic tensions, and government pressure to trade their cattle culture for a more mainstream existence.

A woman smoking opium on Chinese New Year fills her small, sunlit home in Thailand's Doi Sam Mun village with a bluish haze.
Thailand was once a significant producer of opium and heroin, but government eradications efforts begun in the 1980s have significantly curtailed poppy cultivation.
This is a photo of the remains of an old vehicle on what used to be the Route 66 highway running through northern Arizona.
When Interstate 40 was built, large portions of the famous road were bypassed and shut down.
Now, the power lines that are visible through the rear window are the only indication of where Route 66 once was.

An octopus on a dive sometimes referred to as a "black water hang." It is three miles off the coast of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
This was a colorful fall day up in the Adirondacks in New York.
This was taken at Weinke Island in Antarctica, where the mountain peak appeared briefly through the mist looking like a meringue.

A BEAUTIFUL REMINDER
I woke up this morning and knew that today, the sun
would not be shinning and the clouds would be gray.
As I stepped outside, rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start so I walked instead.
I dropped my head in disgust and asked the Lord for one request.
"Lord, why is it that things won't go my way?" He gently replied,
"Dear child it is because you didn't thank me yesterday."
I woke you up and enabled you to see the sun again. I gave you
shelter, protected your family, and even let you make a new friend.
I blessed you far greater than ever before.
But you were too busy to thank me once more
You didn't feel sick because I maintained your health,
You had money in your pocket because I maintained your wealth.
You had shoes on your feet and clothes to wear, too.
You had plenty of food to eat, and what did you do?
You ignored me and went about your tasks. But when you
wanted something you never hesitated to ask.
I was there when you needed me, and that wasn't too long ago,
But when things started going your way, it was me you did not know.
As if that weren't enough, I provided your favorite luxuries,
This was something I didn't have to do, they weren't even necessities.
And when it was time to get on your knees and show your gratitude,
You decided that after such a fulfilling day, you weren't in the mood.
So I decided to give you just a little test,
To show you how it would feel to stop being blessed.
I began to realize what the Lord was saying
And when I got home, I fell to my knees and started praying.
He said, "My child, you have learned and you know I do forgive,
But remember to remember this day as long as you shall live.
I love filling your life with joy, and your pain I'll alleviate it, but
Just a simple thank you would show how much you appreciate it."
Headless man - headless statue
Did this artist get his/her inspiration from a shopping bag?
Does the cross on the box mean this homeless person is dead?
Good shot of the shadow on the door.
They call it art, she call it a hair accessory.
This man seems to imitate the statues
Both ladies touching their legs.
Everything my dog can do I can do better.....
Rolled serviettes on the cups, rolled paper behind his back.
The moon is up, so it must be sleepy time...
I want that child!
Excellent shot of spokes above and below.
The dog is creating his own art.
